Dwell Time is a podcast focused on transit advocacy in Canada and beyond. Come to get to know the hosts and staff!

Rodney Chan

Rodney is currently a fourth-year urban planning student at the University of Waterloo and has worked co-op terms in transportation and transit planning. Originally from Toronto, he rode public transit since he was young and became increasingly frustrated, leading him into advocacy with TTCriders.

Since moving to Waterloo for university, he has revived Tri-Cites Transport Action Group (TriTAG), having shared advocacy wins like stopping transit cuts twice. He was also part of a coalition that successfully brought back night transit. TriTAG is currently running a campaign named IONize, to expand more LRT throughout Waterloo Region.

Denis Agar

Denis is the executive director of Movement: Metro Vancouver Transit Riders. Before that, he worked as a transportation planner at TransLink for 10 years. In that job, he saw how much better transit could be with some public pressure.

He can often be found ranting about how transit riders can become a major political force if they all work together. He was inspired by other transit rider groups like Transit Alliance Miami and TTCriders. He wants to live in a world where your ability to get places doesn't hinge on whether you own a car.

Cariad Heather Keigher

Cariad is both Producer and Editor for the show and provides the voice over at the end of each episode. As a resident of Vancouver, she regularly rides the SkyTrain network and makes it a point to use transit whenever she travels out of town. In her past, she has written about the history of transportation in the region to demonstrate the mistakes that led to automobile dependency.

She is also one of the hosts of Shawinigan Moments, a Canadian history and pop culture podcast.
